A brain tumor is a collection of abnormal cells in your brain. Normally, the cells in the body age, die, and are replaced by new cells. With cancer and other tumors cells grow, even though the body does not need them. As this process goes on, the tumor continues to grow as more and more cells are added to the mass and causes the pressure inside your skull to increase. This can cause brain damage that can be life-threatening. Many different types of brain tumors exist. Some brain tumors are noncancerous and some brain tumors are cancerous. Brain tumors can begin in any body part and spread to your brain.
